Let’s play a little game.

April 1 is apparently “Flash your Stash” day, among other days, and while I took photos of almost all of my stash on that day, I didn’t get around to posting them here. So now I am, and we’ll play a game. It’s called “can Amy name all the yarn in these photos?” I’ll alternate between feeling really proud and really a bit pathetic if I can. 🙂

Flash your stash

I employ (and I use that term loosely) a few different ways of storing my yarn. Some of my yarn is in a green bucket-like bin on top of a kitchen organizer thing. I’m good with names, can’t you see?

This is the yarn in that bucket. In the bottom left corner is Lorna’s Laces Shepherd Sock in Vera, and the green yarn above that is one of 6 skeins of Knit Picks Shine. The reddish yarn that is actually more pinky in real life is Cascade 220 in Tibetan Rose, destined to become a February Lady Sweater at some point. The dark red/purple yarn sandwiched between skeins of Cascade is Plymouth Yarns Happy Feet. The stripe-y yarn on top of the Cascade is Knit Picks Imagination Handpainted sock yarn in Seven Dwarves. The cake is Lorna’s Laces Shepherd Worsted in Autumn Nights. The green and white yarn is Ditto sock yarn, I can’t remember the manufacturer’s name at the moment. Then there’s two skeins of Lorna’s Laces Blue and White self-striping yarn, and a purple skein of Cascade 220 that I plan on turning into a Verity hat.

I picked up two of these boxes from Ikea a while ago, and they both hold yarn. The other box only holds scraps though, and I didn’t feel like dealing with all of them.

From left to right, the blueish yarn on bottom is Lorna’s Laces Shepherd Sport in Lakeview. On top of that is Lorna’s Laces Shepherd Sock in Flames (I think that’s the name). On top of that is Malabrigo sock in Tiziano Red, and underneath you can see strands of one skein of Lily Chan Gotham in black. The grey-blue yarn is two skeins of KnitPicks Shine (maybe Swish I can’t remember), and then there’s two more skeins of that yarn in the blue. Two skeins of Malabrigo Lace are separated, but one of them is smack dab in the middle of the photo. The green skeins are Koigu Premium Merino. Bottom right is Paca Peds sock yarn, above that is Lorna’s Laces Shepherd Sock, and I can’t remember the name of the color at the moment. Way in the tippy top of the photo is a skein of MissJulie’s sock yarn in her Samhain colorway.

I’m not even going to try. There’s too many, and a lot of them are buried under others. If anyone wants to know the name of a particular skein, you can ask me (or try to find it in my Ravelry stash).

Knitting library

And these are most of my knitting related books. I love books, and my bookshelves in general make me happy, but this little shelf makes me exceptionally happy. So much potential!

If you flashed your stash, send me a link! I want to ogle.
