I have a dream

I have a dream that some day I’ll be one of Those Bloggers. You know, the bloggers who post frequently, and with insightful things to say, and don’t allow the drudgery of work and real life to interfere with writing Blog Posts of Substance.

This dream is likely to be very far off, sadly. But a girl can dream.

I’ve finally finished and sent off some projects that were going to other people, so now I can show them off!

First up, a really sweet hat pattern. I’ve wanted to make the Waffel Hat for a while now, and when I found out my swap partner liked hats, I figured, why not give this pattern a try. I used a blue-green yarn from my stash, and worked this bad boy up in no time.

I also made a little kerchief for another swap partner. I used some leftover Brown Sheep Lamb’s Pride, garter stitch, and a shark’s tooth border from Barbara Walker’s 2nd Treasury to whip this into shape.

A few days after I finished this kerchief, I came across someone on Ravelry who’d actually made the same thing (though a little bit bigger) as a pattern, so I’m not going to write one up for this. But it’s pretty easy; you could probably work it out yourself if you really wanted to.

I’ve been so out of the loop lately. Hopefully that will change soon and I can get back into the swing of knitting. I just started working on my mom’s Christmas cardigan; the pattern (Kira Dulaney’s Essential Cardigan) has you knitting the sleeves first, the body second, and then working the yoke and neckline, so I’m about 5″ into a sleeve. When I finish it, I’ll have met my goal of completely 6 adult-sized garments this year. Woohoo for meeting goals.

So, what have you been up to?

  1. I once had that dream, too. I gave up on it, though; now my goal is one post per week, and I still don’t make it most of the time. 😉

I like that kerchief! (Especially the pirate button!) Can you send me the link to the similar pattern on Rav? Thanks!

During very busy times at work, I do aim for once a week. I’ve been averaging maybe 1 every week and a half. I just feel like they’re not that great, content wise.

      • I like the content! =) That’s part of my problem…it takes me so long to make things, I rarely have new stuff to talk about. Also, especially as we move towards winter and earlier night, it’s hard to take pictures. Wah wah wah…I’m so good at excuses!

I’m on board with the photography excuse, though. Especially as we’re inching steadily closer to the time of year when the light comes up around 8 and sets by 4.
