Friday Finds

fridayfinds

Happy Friday everyone! What are your plans for the weekend? Mine is filling up a bit—I’m going to finally see Skyfall tomorrow afternoon (yes, I can see The Hobbit four times in the first two weeks, but can’t manage to see the newest James Bond venture in the first two months; don’t ask). And hopefully get more knitting done! I have to show you the body of Iðunn, too!

In the meantime, here’s some fantastic patterns this week! Feel free to leave your ire at your ever-lengthening queue in the comments below.

  • Anna Ravenscroft’s Featherstone Sweater ($5.50) features a plain body with a cool graphic worked on the sleeves. The sizes are really small, but I imagine the math would be fairly easy to finagle to work a larger size if needed.

  • Firiel (£3.50) by Lucy Hague is a simple garter stitch shawl, worked side to side, with the edging worked at the same time.

  • Sweet and cozy, Katie Hanken’s Glitter Wave Shrug ($5.50) is crocheted in one piece with minimal finishing. Who doesn’t need a sparkly shrug? YOU’RE LYING.

  • Song Thrush ($6) by Kristina Vilimaite is a lovely crescent shawl with a beautifully delicate lace pattern.

  • Thea Colman’s Nebbiolo ($4.50) is a cozy cowl worked in a squishy bulky yarn and a stitch pattern made up of eyelets and cables.

  • Another lovely and simple shawl, Devil’s Mistress (CAN$4) by Marjorie Dussaud features a garter stitch body with a lace section.

  • I love the happy leaf pattern in Yoko Johnston’s Happa Hat (AU$3). The tweedy worsted yarn is the perfect partner for this toque.

  • Megan Goodacre’s Lundell Pullover (CAD$6) is a slouchy, comfy pullover with loose turtleneck and simple stitch pattern at the yoke, hem, and sleeves.

  • Helen Stewart’s Cataleya Hat ($4.25) features a simple arrow lace stitch pattern worked up in a scrumptious alpaca/cashmere/silk blend yarn.

  • And finally, Slouchy Smeph ($5) by Roxanne Villemaire is another lacy hat to keep you warm. Worked in squishy Malabrigo yarn, this is sure to be a quick knit.

Oh I love Featherstone! And that shrug there makes me want to learn crochet…

I think it’s a pretty simple crochet pattern—you should give it a go!

Love the leaf hat, I have the perfect tweed yarn for it. I may have to buy that one if I don’t win the pattern.

Win the pattern? If you’re referring to my Friday Finds contest, that ended in December—it was only running through that month because it’s my birthday month. If you’re trying to win it in a different way, I wish you all the luck! It looks like a lovely hat.

  3. What a great post and I love all the designs 🙂

      Thank you!

  4. My weekend plans consist of going to an art gallery, some shopping, and picking up a few energy drinks. Also catching up on TV (still not successfully accomplished).

The Featherstone sweater is so unique, and I love the designs on the arms.

Cheers! Hope you had a great weekend!

Well that sounds like a delightful weekend!!
