April 2013: Month in Review

Yeah, I’m doing a month in review for a month in which nothing apparently happened. What of it? I CAN POST WHAT I WANT.

Histrionics aside, I don’t really have that much to show for this month either. I did finish something—my Wingspan, knit in this super awesome ball of Kauni that went from bright pinky-purple to black. I think I did something a bit funny, maybe worked a few too many short-rows in each section, as I definitely did not get to eight triangles and ran out of yarn in the bind off. It’s still long enough to wrap around my neck as sort of a short scarf/cowl thing, so I’ll take it. You know, if I ever get around to weaving in the ends or blocking it.

Here have a terrible photo of said project.

Earlier this month I had a moment of weakness with regards to yarn. Too much yarn, really, but at least some of it immediately started to turn into a Maxfield Cardigan. (I do not have an Amy Christoffers problem and I reject your reality and implement my own.) I’m almost finished with the second sleeve, finally—I always think “Oh it will be great to knit these two-at-a-time” and then I start knitting like that and then I realize that I’m an idiot and it at least feels faster to me to knit them singly and without having to worry about whether the yarn is tangled or if I somehow screwed something up. So yes, I’m almost done with the second sleeve, and then I get to put them to the side and work on the body. I’m loving the way this is knitting up, I just don’t have any good photos to share.

I won’t call this a comeback, but I will say I’m starting to feel more myself. I’m optimistic that I can get back in the swing of blogging more frequently, but that still may take a while. Thank you, everyone who keeps stopping by the blog and especially those of you leaving comments on the Friday Finds—it means a lot that anyone’s still reading this, even when I’m frightfully boring.

I hope your April was good to you!
