FO: Mustard Scarf

Not so mustard-y, really.

If it weren’t incredibly impractical, I would knit everything on size 15s. SO. FAST. I cast on for this scarflette on Saturday and wove in ends and sewed on a button yesterday.

I’d picked up this button… somewhere, along my travels, and it has a companion, but they don’t match exactly and it felt like the perfect contrasty thing to stand out against the variegated yarn. And while I’m mentioning the yarn, it’s a Lorna’s Laces Shepherd Worsted, in the Watercolor colorway. I bought this yarn at Purl Soho in NYC, some of my first ever souvenir yarn, many years ago.

This pattern (Mustard Scarf, free, Rav link) is super easy to knit. It’s technically garter stitch, since it’s knit on every row, but it lays flat and is squishy, and we know how I like the squishy. The instructions say to knit for 27″, but I just knit until I ran out of yarn, so mine is a little longer than that.

And now that the weather is FINALLY getting cooler, I can’t wait to add this to the neckwarmer rotation.
