Month in Review: August 2014

Another month, another month in review! August was a busy month here at Threadpanda. I worked on a lot of different projects, as you can see the collection of Wordless WIP Wednesdays, but unfortunately I didn’t finish any of them this month. I did, however, post about a couple of FOs from July, namely the New York Rangers Hat I gifted to a friend, and my Sislana.

I continued the Last Week on the Web series, which I’m enjoying and it sounds like you are too! I started a new “feature,” called Throwback Thursday in Knits. I’m so tickled putting together both those series of posts, so I’m hoping I can keep them up indefinitely! And I kicked off what will become a more sporadic column, my Live Tweet Reviews—the first was on Rowan Knitting and Crochet magazine 56; I’ve got another new pattern book, just need some time to sit down with it and tweet about it!

The Stoney Brook Top KAL kicked off toward the end of August and I’m shamed to say that I still haven’t started mine, but that’s okay! This KAL runs through the end of November, so there’s still plenty of time for me, and you, to get going.

Goal re-cap
Goal 1: No buying yarn Uuuuh. I bought yarn from Jimmy Beans Wool at the beginning of the month—the Lorna’s Laces Special Editions yarns to knit the Outlander MKAL shawl, and the Berroco Cosma to knit Daqin. But I have cast on for both of those and made progress, so I don’t feel too bad about that. In other stash enhancement news, my Berroco Modern Cotton (ordered in June) finally arrived for my Admit (haven’t started that) and a couple of skeins were gifted to me, but I didn’t actually purchase them.

Goal 1b: Knit the queue Mmmmm. Nope.

Goal 2: Selfless Knitting One of the projects I’m working on is a gift, but it’s not complete.

Goal 3: Finished WIPs HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA oops.

Now it’s September, and the weather is cooling down, and I’m working really hard to not impulsively cast on projects, so hopefully my September month in review will be much more in the win column. But let’s not get ahead of ourselves. How was your August?
