Knits in the News
A controversial knitted map of Cork is being dusted off for display… somewhere?

This sheep family portrait is absolutely adorable.

This was all over the internet last week, but just in case you missed it, Meryl Streep fesses up to her love of knitting.

This week’s “feel good about humanity” story is about an 87 year old woman who finished her 1,000th sweater for kids in need You go, Anna!

What’s your favorite from this list of 19 Nerdy “Knits” (one is crochet, and they realized that)? My fave is definitely Annie Watts’ Fightin’ Words mitts (though why her Robots vs Downtown Mittens didn’t make this list is beyond me).

An island in the middle of Lake Titicaca is home to about 2,000 residents, and while all of them are involved in yarn craft in some way, only the men of the island knit the items that are sold to tourists. As this brief write up notes, this is an interesting reversal in the “traditional” (or thought to be traditional) roles of craft and gender.

This is an absolutely wonderful write up about Judy Graham, the 78 year old YouTube star of Knitting with Judy.
