An Actual Update of Sorts

I’ve missed actually writing on my blog! Work life is just absolutely nuts right now and so when I get home from work I tend to avoid the computer like the plague. Or I’m working on work projects at home. But I’ve also been knitting and as much as I wanted to keep everything a secret, I’m really tired of not talking about knitting. So here goes!

This is Baby Blanket Bonanza Project #1. (Cat for scale.)

It’s a free pattern by Andi Satterlund—I’ll share all the details when I post about the FO, but in the meantime if you really feel the need to bust this out, the terms “free pattern,” “baby blanket,” and “Andi Satterlund” will get you started. I’m mostly stash busting using Berroco Vintange (I’m using Vintage for all of the four currently planned blankets)—the only color I bought was the oatmeal-ish colored yarn. Again, more on that when it’s done—and it’s getting close to done!

It also takes up more than half of a queen-sized bed along it’s long finished size, easily pushing four feet. I don’t think it’s supposed to be that big. Whatever!

I also signed up to take a class with Bristol Ivy when she’s in Denver next month. It’s all about designing knitwear, so I’m excited to get a peek into Bristol’s brain to see how she does the incredible things she does.

What else? Oh, I caught up on seasons one and two of Orphan Black while knitting and OH GOD. I’m also up-to-date on Poldark, via Amazon season pass. Anyone else watching these shows? Alternatively, what tv programs are fueling your knitting these days?

So that’s most of what I’m up to! I’d love to hear what you’ve been working on. I’m hoping to be a bit better about writing here. I know I say that a lot but let’s go with the power of positive thinking and all that jazz.

  1. You are so lucky to be able to go to Bristol Ivy’s class!! When I saw that on your IG, my jaw dropped. I love hearing how designers work, their processes, and how they’ve learned all the various aspects of design, as well as learning as much about designing in general. I hope you do a recap post when you get back! Have fun!!

Ahhh, I’m obsessed with Orphan Black! I have also only watched seasons 1 & 2, but it’s so good! I just finished the new Netflix show, Sense8, and thought it was very engaging. Slow to start, but then I was sad there weren’t more episodes!
