1. No, really. Seed stitch, miles upon miles of seed stitch, just really isn’t that fabulous to look at. My mom’s cardigan is coming along; I do feel as though I may have been a bit delusional in thinking that I’d finish it by Halloween, but crazier things have happened. It’s more of a goal date, anyway. But here, just to show you what you’re probably not missing, I give you, Seed Stitch!
Was it good for you?
2. Cookie A’s new sock knitting book, Knit.Sock.Love is available for pre-order of the printed edition (signed, even!) and has the option for an immediately gratifying PDF download. Cookie herself explains how this book is different from Sock Innovation (Interweave, 2009) in this blog post, and you can get a preview of all of the socks in Knit.Sock.Love at the ordering page.
Oh yeah, the socks on the cover? They might look a little familiar.
3. Are you getting ready for Halloween? Making your own costume? What’s your costume? And yes, I demand pictures if you have them. Quirky Knit Girl Ivy shares with us how Target doesn’t want you to DIY Halloween this year. I say “baloney.” Some of my favorite Halloween costumes were hand-made, like the year that I was a flapper. Okay, the two years that I was a flapper—I was about 8 or 9 the first time, and my mom made my dress. I was about 26 or 27 the second time, and I made my dress. My mom’s was WAY better, but I didn’t profess to being much of a sewer-type at the time. Anyway, if you aren’t making a Halloween costume for yourself (or perhaps for a little someone), have you ever made your own?
